Well, a few weeks ago on my mother’s birthday there was a swimming party. Yes, a 500 year old woman decided to have a pool party for her birthday – which would be great if it wasn’t a two hour drive in the heat. Add on top of that she had to stop and mull around a redneck’s garage sale for an hour (stank, I came out of it with allergies) then she wanted to eat – before a long car ride and a dip in the pool.

Okay, fine, her birthday and we do things her way. Then she decided on Country Kitchen – which was a bad idea and everyone but her knew it, but she decided that’s where she had to go.

Because it was cheap we all got the breakfast bar, and it tasted fine (so unhealthy, but I’m an egg fiend!). Low and behold, before the day was through, everyone had food poisoning. Food poisoning that lasted ages and everyone’s still slightly sick from the trip.

So, the moral of the story is my mother’s an idiot and Country Kitchen is disgusting. :P

My mom and her new hubby took me out for an early birthday lunch (my birthday is on Tuesday), and we headed up to Bethany instead of straying too far. They surprised me by not going to Toot-Toot (which is awful, by the way – I’m not really a buffet kind of girl, though) but instead went to the new Chinese restaurant, China King.

The first thing I noticed about China King was that it was tiny from the outside, but inside it’s about as big as an average Panda Express. It was clean and cozy, with a friendly staff who are gracious even though there’s a bit of a language barrier (they do speak English very well, though, but the way I mumble they were a bit hard of understanding me!).

When you first walk into the building you’re hit with the amazing aromas of whatever the heck they’re cooking up in the row of giant, well seasoned wok in the kitchen (you can plainly see the neat little kitchen from the register). The food portions are huge, Laota and I both had Egg Fu Yung with pork and fried rice and the portion was heaped, literally heaped, on the plate. Two large patties (each bigger than a normal hamburger patty), and a portion of rice as big as both patties, plus your choice of an egg roll or the best damn crab rangoon you’ve ever had – all for about $5.50. You could easily feed three people with the portion we were given each, we had over a whole meal’s worth for each one of us to take home.

The whole thing was delicious, the food came out fast, the service was friendly. I almost wish I could dock these guys a few points because they’re so far away. I’ve got a pic or two of the Egg Fu Yung (sorry it’s blurry, low light plus crappy camera!). A-

Well my new found baby brother is not just stalking me on the interwebs (which is silly, considering I live DOWNSTAIRS and he could just go DOWNSTAIRS and find me, lol), but he’s also officially 20 years old today. Unfortunately for him, that means he’s old enough to legally sell on the black market which, as I’m sure you know, has been acquired by the Walt Disney Corporation.

Mike was also nice enough to share some of his birthday pizza with us last night, which was much appreciated since we’re entirely out of food again (you’d think I’d be thinner with how little I eat and how much I walk, but alas I was meant to be a bacon-fryer’s wet dream). It was nice to be full after so much emptiness, to know pizza after so much un-pizza, to find that a fat lady who wants pizza would find her prayers had been answered. Can that not be called happiness?

Okay enough sillies. Happy Birthday, Douchey! I hope all of the bad things in life happen to you and to no one else!

Well, I forgot to post much about Laota‘s birthday – partially because she wanted to ignore it. I don’t get her sometimes, but in this instance considering what we’ve had to go through and how big a letdown birthdays always are for us, I totally understand it.

We did have a cute cake, though, but the pictures are on my RAZR and the USB data cable’s decided I don’t get to retrieve them, how’s that for a load of crap?

Why are my birthdays always boring, lonely and freezing? And why, today of all days, did my host go *explode* so that I had to re-install everything? I’m really not loving this layout – it’s very pretty, but I hate having layouts up that aren’t mine even if I couldn’t achieve this in my wildest dreams, lol. I’m just too sleepy and too busy to get my holiday layout up, but it is coming so just for now let’s pretend this isn’t bothering me, hmm?

I may head up to the gas station and get something spam-like to make gyoza with tonight. Birthday gyoza! With spam! Okay, maybe I’m the only one excited, lol.

Well, I missed this hilarious crap the first time around, but apparently The Beouf ( who I’ve become quite a fan of when he sprouted a decent hind-be ) spent some time on SNL recently, and the ensuing chaos resulted in maybe one of the best episodes of Saturday Night Live I’ve seen in a long time. It was weird, nonsensical and hilarious, and the goofy parts were actually my favorite parts ( like Keenan Thompson’s French comedian ), and featured possibly one of the funniest shorts I’ve seen on the show in 10 years – the musical clip-let, “The Best Look In The World”. Here are a few highlights put together by a random person on Youtube:

I can’t stop laughing at that “Doi, doi, doi” thing – the faces, dear Odin, the faces they’re making. Always Keenan is the worst aka the funniest, but The Beouf comes in a close second with that horrible face – he managed to make himself look kind of toothless. I’m not sure how he did that, lol.

Now onto the good stuff. It’s the Sour 18th of the world famous, supasexful King of Filth himself, Nick Dickferbrains, so do as you’re told and go and wish him a happy birthday or I’ll kill you, okay? Okay. Happy Birthday, Straighty!

I want to extend smoochies, hugs and a very happy birthday to Rita who turns a ripe, old lady age of 26 today. Hope you got my present! :D

I know, I know, I’ve been otherplace instead of posting here but I have yet more birthday wishes to send out!

My boyfriend Wil and his twin sister Nina both turned the big 28 today, and I want to wish them both an amazing birthday and Merry Solstice, since Solstice is so close to said birthday. Smooches and hugs all around!

*does a dance* Big timey Happy Birthday to Natalie, who turns none of your beeswax today, lol. She’s also starting a job today, too, so best wishes to her and hopefully I’ll get to chat with her before the day’s out – hope! I’m so freaking smart that I accidentally sent her like 5 of the same Hallmark.com ecard, lmao. I’m not entirely sure how I managed that. :S

Speaking of managing, I decided to make a button for Shibuya ( finally ) and, being stupid I decided to go ahead and do a pixel version of Shibuya and, apparently, I had no idea what I’d taken on lmao. I got sleepy after awhile so the bastard’s got no trees out front and I didn’t bother putting an ad on the 109 tower, but it’s not too horrible lmao.

Randomies

Whoo, we’re almost done with the turkey! Just the legs left now, and I don’t think I want to bother making them all fancy, I’ll just heat them up in the gravy for the mashed taters and we’ll have them with stuffing and lots of salad. I love salad, I want to go to salad heaven someday and have a bed made of sunflower seeds, which I eat and then have no bed. Sleeping on the floor is a small price to pay for a bed-sized pile of sunflower seeds, lol. I’m so random, I even confuse myself at times.

Just got some new bento stuff in the mail today, I’ve got two more packages coming. One of bento stuff, of course, and one of them is a secret-y late birthday present for Laota. I’m so giddy, she’s gonna flip when she sees it! It’s so her, and besides I was secretly taking notes when she gushed over it on eBay, lmao. *does a present dance*! I’d tell you guys what it is, but you’re all big mouths! Telephone, Tell A Friend, Tell Shibuya’s Readers. No, seriously, if I put it up here she’d see it and the surprise would be ruined, but I like blaming you anyway – it strengthens our bond. ;)

Awww! I got the cutest ever birthday presents! I got them a bit late, so it’s got an extra surprise feel to it, and they’re easily exactly what I wanted. First of all, I bought myself a little black bento (picture will come soon) with a built-in divider, plus Laota and I had to have three nori face punches to make little faces for our onigiri and add some extra cutes to our bentos (pics coming soon for that, too).

Next are two of the best birthday presents I’ve ever gotten – possibly the best, actually. Wil‘s presents are always the best, though, because he knows me better than my own family, lol. He sent a religious pendant and, unlike my own mother, got my semi obsure religion right! I give you the Helm!

Yay!

Yay!

And a gorgeous bento – it’s actually one I’ve been eying ( Is that spelled right? Lol. ), but never could afford. It’s pinkm cream, black, purple and red kimono fabric print with chopsticks, band and bag – aboslutely adorable! I just had to share it, I know the pictures aren’t the most fabulous but they give you an idea of what’s what. :D

Yay!

So, I’ve decided to celebrate my birthday all week, lmao. Yes, I’m very greedy, but the actual birthday sucked, so what can you do? Here are pics of my half-eaten birthday cake, lmao. It’s marble cake with white whipped topping and roses:

Argh! I bought myself a bento on eBay, it was a cheapie bento and cost barely anything, but I can’t wait, I want it now, now, now! Lol. I’m such a baby, I know, but it’s a bento, can you blame me?

As soon as it gets here I’ll have pictures of it, crappy pictures, but pictures none the less. I need a new belt for it, something in grey I think or red to match the blackness – it’s the only unadorned bento I’ve got, all the others have something cutesy on them but this one is pitch black and didn’t come in a set. I don’t even think it has a set?

It’s my birthday! All day, today! And I’ve ordered something extra special for moi and Laota, and once it gets here you’ll get pictures, it’s too cute for words!

Whoo, I’m getting old, or at least it feels like I am. Do you know that I’ve been blogging for over eight years on various sites, I’ve had Beautiful Sin probably six, maybe seven years and I’ve been making sites and in the graphics biz for eleven years? Tha’s just my net life, too, Odin knows how old I really am. Probably a seven or eight, easy. Thanks to Nick for his guess of fourty, which is closer than my guess of seven or eight by a long shot, lol. I’m so looking forward to just relaxing today and gorging on cake – because that’s a healthy way to live, lol.

I’ll write more later, since I can’t for the life of me remember what I had started out writing. It was about DVDs, I know that much, lol.

I dare you to tell me these aren’t cute, lol. Double dare! This is a rotten picture, but I just had to snap one, even if it was with my horrible, stupid camera phone, lol. I used my bento veggie cutters that I had shipped in from Tokyo, and I just adore them – they’re sakura, ume and orange blossom home made sugar cookies ( about 2/3 of an inch across ) with home made pastel frosting, just big enough to stick in a bento but I doubt they’ll last that long, lol.

Well, it’s official – today is My Birthday Eve. Pay out, PayPerPost, I’d like a cake, lol. I know, I know, it’s sad that I’ve got to buy my own birthday cake – but it’s something I chose to do, and I’m a damn good baker so I could, technically, bake my own if I wanted to but I want to buy a nine dollar ice cream cake. It’s generic, but it’s good – strawberry shortcake with white chocolate decoration on the top and berry cream ice cream. I’m too old to be obsessing over cake, lol. But, I’m of the mind that I’d like one decent birthday, and this is the first year I’ve had in twenty years that I haven’t had to share ( meaning give ) my celebration to my stepdad. The awful jackass.

See, his birthday was the day before mine so I’d get a piece of cake but I couldn’t blow out the candles, he’d get the cards, he’d get the presents, he’d get pampered and I was expected to be one of the people who did the pampering. I can’t tell you how many times I was the one who baked his cake, bought him presents, made him dinner, cleaned up after him – because my birthday didn’t matter. I know it’s kind of childish to whine about it now, since most people consider birthdays to be something that only children get excited about, but I spent my birthdays until I was seventeen being silently envious and hurt by it. In fact he dominated my mother and Laota‘s birthday celebrations, too, and Christmas, Thanksgiving, Mother’s and Father’s days, school events, church events – if there was attention to be paid, he wanted it paid to him and no one else. He was like a vicious, jealous, mean child and he’d get violent if he didn’t get what he wanted, when he wanted.

After a certain point in my life, though, I think I just accepted it and fell into a life of mundane repetition – no opinions, no backtalk, no promise of a better life. And awful as it is to say, in the months that he’s been gone my life has taken an upswing – it’s not a good life, I’m still landlocked and holding down four jobs with literally almost no pay ( we’re talking maybe $200 a month, if that ), and were it not for PayPerPost, I’d literally have nothing. At least I can afford a cake this year, and, for once, it’s happy birthday to me.

Egg Cooker

CROSSPOSTED FROM BEAUTIFUL SIN:

I’ve got my egg cooker thingie! It arrived today in the mail, and it’s bigger than I thought it would be, but I’m just in LOVE with it. It’s a little early birthday present to me. I love presents to myself, I always know just what I want, lol.

It’s got four mold/cooker shapes and it looks like it’ll be very easy to use, so hopefully I won’t screw it up ( lol ), on top of that the seller even wrote and printed out some English language instructions for me, wasn’t that awesome of them? I’m going to marry it. MARRY IT! I love it so much, I’m going to have eggs today even though I don’t particularly crave them, and you’re all invited to the wedding. As soon as I have some pics of the actual eggs, I’ll post all the pics I’ve taken so far with them – Giddy!

I just recieved an early birthday present from Nan and Jon, something that proves without a doubt that I’ve got friends who know me better than I know myself. They’ve given me a text-to-speech reader so that I can read things on my PC without having to actually read them. Why this is such a big deal is that I’ve got severe dyslexia, I can’t even be sure half of what I write is what I meant to write, but fortunately for me and everyone who wants a good laugh, I’m far too lazy to recheck what I’ve written, lol.

Thanks my present I can buy ebooks in txt or pdf ( even doc, I think ) format on ebay or at bookstores and just read along with the text highlighter instead of struggling to get through a paragraph. I’m telling you, with my mind unable to focus since Ragnorok happened last year and my cup of dyslexic fun it’s like being illiterate because it takes me forever to read anything, and I forget what I’ve read a second after I’ve read it or, even though I understand what I’m reading I don’t understand it. Like I’m in some kind of half-dreamlike state, which is sad because I love to read. I need my eyes checked but I know that won’t happen anytime soon, so this is a neat present. Thanks to Jon and Nan!
